Meet the Artist

Paint
Abstract Textured Surface

Hey there, I'm Tracy!

My artistic journey began in the warm embrace of my father’s studio, where I first discovered the joy of painting.

By ten, I was already sketching wildlife and portraits; by fourteen, I was working in oils and acrylics under his guidance. Those moments not only shaped my skills but also deepened our bond. Today, every piece I create carries forward his legacy and the Samphire name.

I specialize in capturing the essence of landscapes, wildlife, and beloved pets, working with acrylics, oils, pastels, and charcoal. Each medium allows me to tell a different kind of story, but all are rooted in my love of nature and connection to others.

Like many artists, life led me away from painting for a time — during the busy years of motherhood. In 2017, encouraged by family and friends, I reignited my passion. Since then, I’ve embraced new challenges, expanded my skills, and found joy in creating both commissions and original works.

You can often find me at local markets and art shows across Southern & Central Alberta, sharing my creations, teaching paint nights, and celebrating the vibrant community of makers and art lovers I’m proud to be part of.

Thank you for being here and sharing in my journey. I can’t wait for my art to become part of your story, too.

One of my earliest and most cherished creations, this piece embodies my deep connection to the beauty and serenity of the natural world.

As a landscape artist, I’ve always found inspiration in the quiet moments of nature—soft light filtering through the trees, the gentle ripple of water, or the endless expanse of a clear sky.

This artwork reflects my passion for translating those fleeting yet profound moments into something tangible, inviting viewers to pause and reconnect with the world around them.

It serves as a reminder of how art can capture the essence of nature and transform it into a lasting source of peace and wonder.
